If you want to make sure that your business is in compliance with all local laws and that everyone is kept safe, you are going to need to have regular fire safety inspections conducted regularly. Check out the following four safety inspections every business should have.

Sprinkler System Inspection

It is extremely important that your sprinkler system is ready to work at all times. For example, if your sprinkler system is hooked up to a water tank, that tank will need to be inspected for leaks, like by Southern Commercial Divers. Otherwise, you might not have the water needed to put out any fires.

The control valves and all other working parts of the standard sprinkler system need to be inspected regularly.

Fire Extinguisher Inspections

All fire extinguishers need to be inspected each month in order to make sure that they have full charges. It is also important to make sure that the extinguishers have not passed their expiration dates.

If the expiration dates have passed, the fire extinguishers need to be properly disposed of and replaced immediately.

Emergency Exits Inspection

It is important to do a daily inspection of all emergency exits. Since you never know if or when a fire will break out, you need to make sure that all exits are perfectly clear. One thing in the way could create a major tragedy.

In addition, this is the perfect time to look around to make sure that all of those emergency exits are clearly marked. If the signs are blocked or the bulbs in the signs are not working, they need to be corrected.

Emergency Lights Inspection

If a fire breaks out and the lights go out, you should have emergency lights ready to kick on. To make sure that you are not going to have any problems, you will want to run a test of those lights so that you know that they will work when they are needed the most.

Also, be sure to replace any and all light bulbs immediately. If you wait until later, you might forget all about it and then your emergency lights are useless.

As you can see, there are a few basic things that you need to inspect and keep an eye on in order to keep your business and everyone in it safe from the dangers of fire. Whether you are completing the inspections yourself or having a company complete some of it for you, you will be protecting your business.
